36 Hours in NYC with 1 Lens
I recently spent about 36 hours in New York City. A whirlwind of a trip, I was able to finally experience The Big Apple for the first time. Staying in Manhattan made it easy to navigate to all of the major points to check out. I logged a good 15 miles walking while there - something that I don’t usually do in my car-dependent home of DFW.
Photo challenge: Photograph everything with just one lens - the Prime 50 1.8, also known as the “nifty 50”. While very easy to travel with, it is a tight shot lens. In a condensed city like NYC, not having a wide option can feel very limiting. I chose to look at this as an opportunity. Every photo was taken with the single lens I brought with me.
I loved every second of my time in NYC. The energy is infectious. There’s a buzz that charges you. Frenetic. Kinetic. It lights you up through the soles of your feet as you walk along the streets and avenues. I hit the major spots, ate locally, and experienced some good conversations with strangers. I plan on making more trips out there whenever I can. I feel very much at home there.
